NOTICE TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF THE SAN LORENZO VALLEY UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT OF SANTA CRUZ COUNTY OF A VACANCY ON THE GOVERNING BOARD TO SAID DISTRICT AND OF A PROVISIONAL APPOINTMENT TO FILL SAID VACANCY
- On June 29, 2020, a member of the Governing Board of the San Lorenzo Valley Unified School District filed a resignation with the Santa Cruz County Superintendent of Schools, thus creating a vacancy on said Board, effective July 1, 2020.
- On August 5, 2020, the Governing Board of the San Lorenzo Valley Unified School District provisionally appointed Terrence VanAusdall to fill said vacancy. Terrence VanAusdall is hereby vested with all of the powers and shall perform all of the duties of a governing board member. On September 5, 2020, this provisional appointment will become final unless within 30 days of this provisional appointment at least 1.5% of the registered voters of the District, who voted in the last regular election for Governing Board members, petition for the vacancy to remain open until it can be filled in an election to be held on a date to be determined. Said petition is to be filed with the Office of the Santa Cruz County Superintendent of Schools.
- This notice is given pursuant to Section 5092 of the Education Code and Section 19, Chapter 9, Statutes of 1979 of the State of California.
