SUPERINTENDENT COMMUNICATION - JULY 20, 2020

Dear SLV Family & Friends,

I hope this email finds you well. As predicted, Santa Cruz County has met all the indicators required to be on the State "Watch List" that requires school districts to offer Distance Learning for the 20-21 school year. It will take at least a week for the county name to appear on the official state list, but the County Office of Education in partnership with the county school districts, has announced that all schools will start in an online format.

Details about online requirements, attendance requirements, guidelines for reopening to in-person classes, individual assessment sessions, and specific schedules will follow in the next week.

Please remember to register your student for school even if they have been a student in SLVUSD for numerous years. Each year, parents need to update online student information forms to ensure we have current phone and email contact numbers. All district communication both "Dial Out Calling" and district and school newsletters and emails will be sent out through information collected from student registration forms.

Take care and we will see you very soon. - Laurie
